Join the Schools' Programme

In 2024  NBF engaged with 15 different schools ranging from reception class to Y11. A total of over 800 pupils took part. We also worked with our Young Ambassadors distributing Arts Awards.

We work with individual schools and nurseries to devise fun activities for young people, boosting their engagement with reading and writing.

2025 Schools' Programme

Monday 7th July

Today is our new joint schools' day! We have so many places available for  professional authors, poets, storytellers, or illustrators to visit your school. You can book a writing or drawing workshop, a talk about writing and being a writer, storytelling or a reading, or activities based on the themes important to your school’s current lesson plans.

Thursday 10th July - Schools' Day at the Festival - Palace Theatre, Newark

For schools and home educators - today will feature a mini market of  children's authors, and morning and afternoon panels and author signings for nursery, primary and secondary levels.
