Greetings, Detective, and welcome to Newark!
We’re so glad you’re here.
As you will be well aware from the letter I sent you, Barry the Bookworm has mysteriously disappeared – and the circumstances look like a kidnapping.
We need to recruit people to find out who took him prisoner, and how they managed it so that we can get him back in time to celebrate our "Play at the Castle" Day together on Sunday 14th of July!
Can we count on you and your most trusted companions?
To help you with the investigation, we’ve had a few people offering us information about Barry's whereabouts but this mission is top secret!
Because of this, we don’t want them to hear what each other is saying, you’ll have to visit a few different places to gather all the clues.
But remember, Detective, people rarely tell the truth all the time. We think it’s a safe assumption that there will be two truths and one lie in every statement you receive. It’s important to note, though, that only the truths will be repeated, because those who are lying can’t sync up their stories.
Can you match up the truths in order to find out who committed this awful crime, where it took place, and with what weapon?
The game is afoot
Yours faithfully,
Newark Book Festival Team x
